Your logbook
Your profile, cases, notes, images and preferences stay on your device or browser. They support logging, statistics and optional reminders. Imports are processed locally; saving a case does not upload it to us. Do not enter identifiable patient information.
You control exports and backups. Full JSON backups include private notes, images and trashed cases. The app adds no separate encryption to local records or exports. Protect these files; device or cloud-backup providers may keep copies.
Optional suggestions
When you choose to send a catalogue suggestion, we receive its text, type, associated procedure, submission ID, timestamp and anonymous account ID. Your logbook records are not automatically attached. Do not include personal information.
Supabase stores submissions in the USA and authenticates the anonymous account, which links submissions without requiring your name or email. Supabase may process IP addresses and technical logs for operation and security. Processing may occur outside your country.
Suggestions improve the catalogue. You can withdraw consent for future submissions by stopping submissions and removing unsent suggestions, without affecting your logbook. To delete earlier submissions, follow the instructions below.
Sharing and security
We do not sell personal information, use targeted advertising or add behavioural analytics. Supabase processes suggestion data for us. We and our email provider use correspondence to respond to you. Information may be disclosed when legally required.
Submissions use HTTPS and restricted database access. Supabase encrypts stored database data and backups; its agreement requires confidentiality, security and equivalent protections from subcontractors. Local security depends on your device or browser. No system is completely secure.
How long we keep information
Suggestions are scheduled for deletion after 24 months; anonymous accounts after 24 months without signing in or submitting a suggestion. Cleanup is scheduled daily while the service runs. Support messages are kept for up to 12 months after resolution. Provider logs and backups have separate retention periods and may remain after account deletion. Non-personal terminology added to the catalogue may remain.
Delete account and data
In the app: Open Settings → About → Privacy → “Delete submitted suggestions and account.” This deletes the current anonymous account, linked submissions and account-activity record, plus this device's suggestion history and unsent suggestions. Your logbook is unchanged. A later submission creates a new account.
Without the app: Email [email protected] with the subject “SurgicalAssist deletion request.” Specify whether to delete particular suggestions or the whole suggestion account. Include suggestion text and approximate dates if available. No reinstall is needed. Your email alone cannot identify an anonymous account; we may need further details to locate and verify it. We aim to resolve verified requests within 30 days and explain any delays or identification limits. Do not send patient information, passwords or authentication tokens.
Local data: Records remain until deleted. Trash is not permanent deletion. Clear app/browser data to remove the local logbook; remove exports and backups separately. We cannot erase local copies remotely. Uninstalling alone does not delete server submissions.
